Birth Doula/Monitrice The role of a birth doula varies as widely as the families she serves. Laura's goal as your doula is to help you decide what it is that you need and want her for, and to serve you accordingly. As your birth doula, Laura offers much more than just attendance at your birth. When you enlist Laura as your birth doula, you will recieve: 24 hour phone and e-mail contact. 24 hour on-call service from week 37 of your pregnancy until your baby comes. Three prenatal visits for the purposes of getting to know one another, discussing expectations, planning for your birth, and childbirth education. Full access to Laura's childbirth and parenting library of books, DVDs, and articles. Labor support from the time that you call until your baby is born, and into the immediate postpartum. High-quality digital photos and/or digital video of your birth. Up to two postpartum visits for admiring your baby, any questions you may have, lactation support, and emotional support. Postpartum Doula Laura offers several different options as a postpartum doula, to fit your needs and desires. You may completely customize your postpartum doula package. Here are some options: Special 3, 6, or 10 day packages. Lactation support and guidance. You specify the time of day you'd like your doula to come over-- morning, day-time, evening, or night; weekdays and weekends. Cloth diaper cleaning and teaching for when Laura leaves. Hourly based packages. Meal preparation to suit your family's dietary preferences. Baby care while you shower, rest, etc. 24 hour phone and e-mail contact. Prenatal meeting to discuss our plans postpartum; (please feel free to contact me, even if you've already had your baby!) Laura offers free consultations for all potential clients. The purpose is to make sure that you truly get the best match for your needs, desires, and personality.
